The Civil Defense General Command in Abu Dhabi and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) explored at the ministry of interior's headquarters ways of cooperation in areas of fire protection and safety to further serve their common interests in improving civil defense services.
Major General Jassim Al Marzouqui, Commander General of Civil Daefense has received on Monday Jim Pauley is the President and Chief Executive Officer of NFPA and the accompanying delegation in the presence of Brigadier Mohammed Abdullah Al Nuaimi, director general of firefighting and protection.
The two sides discussed ways to put into action the MoU they have already signed regarding the promotion of cooperation in areas of training, scientific research, protection and firefighting, preparing studies and sharing of information and expertise related to civil defense.
They also discussed constant cooperation to ensure that civil defense equipment and vehicles keep abreast with modern advanced technologies.
The two sides have also agreed on exchanging delegations and organizing training courses for the UAE civil defense personnel to raise their capabilities in areas of firefighting and civil protection.
Major General Al Marzouqui presented a souvenir to the CEO of NFPA who expressed his pleasure at the fruitful cooperation between the two sides.
The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), headquartered in the US, is a global nonprofit organization, established in 1896, devoted to eliminating death, injury, property and economic loss due to fire, electrical and related hazards.
NFPA delivers information and knowledge through more than 300 consensus codes and standards which are designed to help firefighters define risks and educate them about the procedures and preventive measures to be followed on the first moments in an emergency response.
