The Department of the Ministry of Interior's Centers for Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities in the General Directorate of Community Protection and Crime Prevention at the Ministry of Interior showcased its services at its pavilion held as part of the "Together We Enlighten your Life" event which is organized by the Student Services at the UAE University (UAEU) 

Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al Baili, Chancellor of the UAE University, visited the pavilion of the Department of the Ministry of Interior's Centers for Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities and listened to an explanation by Major Salem bin Nukhirat Al Ameri about the services provided by the Department in the field of training, rehabilitation and employment of persons with disabilities and their integration into society.

He talked about the cooperation between the Department and UAEU in implementing idea the "Irada" projects, which provide job opportunities for people with disabilities who are unable to obtain jobs in the public and private sectors.

On the sidelines of the "Together We Enlighten Your Life" event, the Department has executed the "Live Their Lives" initiative, which is part of its community initiatives in the Year of Giving. Accordingly, a number of students with disabilities spent hours on wheelchairs and acted as though they are deaf, to educate the public about the need for providing persons with disabilities with a convenient working environment in order for them to perform their duties in the most proper manner.

It also aims to spread the culture of sign language, and abstain from using the facilities designed for disabled people such as parking lots and toilets, and to take into account the conditions and difficulties faced by persons with disabilities at various work sites and giving them all the rights guaranteed by law.

During his visit to the Department' pavilion, Chancellor of the UAE University stressed the university's interest in promoting and developing the existing strategic partnership with the Department in order to exchange expertise in the field of training and catering for the needs of students with disabilities. 

Major Salem bin Nukhirat Ameri received a commemorative shield from Dr. Al Baili who honored the strategic partners and participants in the event.
