MoI Celebrates the Human Rights Day at the Etihad Museum in Dubai
The Ministry of Interior (MoI) celebrates today morning (Wednesday) the Human Rights Day. On the occasion, the MoI Human Rights Department organized a Forum titled Tolerance and Human Rights at the Etihad Museum in Dubai to highlight the concentrated MoI efforts in promoting and protecting human rights, and spreading the relevant culture among its personnel with the aim to promote the MoI’s position and leading role in this field.
Lt. General Saif Abdullah Al Shafar, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Interior said in the opening speech that the United Arab Emirates joins the countries of the world celebrating this occasion and has achieved many achievements, and made clear and firm efforts both at the national or the international level, after having adopted the principles of justice and equality, humanitarian action, tolerance, cultural diversity and observance of human rights starting from Its pursuit of sustainable development goals in line with the goals of the UAE Vision 2021 and its firm belief that the human being is the focus of development renaissance. He affirmed that the Ministry of Interior is keen to celebrate this anniversary as an expression of permanent respect for human rights, in accordance with the principles of Islamic Sharia, the constitution, national legislations and regional and international instruments ratified by the state, and the implementation of recommendations On human rights in partnership with government agencies and civil society institutions, pointing to the ministry’s keenness to promote and spread a culture of respect for human rights among its affiliates, and to continue to work, collaborate and coordinate with all relevant agencies and institutions.
He explained that the Ministry of the Interior continues its efforts to achieve more achievements in implementing its initiatives and programs, enhancing cooperation and exchanging experiences with the competent authorities in a way that contributes to the promotion and protection of human rights, preserving its dignity and spreading the values and principles of tolerance, and upgrading the services it provides to various groups of society, including women and children, senior citizens.
