Arab Traffic Week kicks off in Abu Dhabi

The Arab Traffic Week 2017today beganat DalmaMall in Abu Dhabi, under the slogan "The Traffic Marshall Is Here to Serve You". It will continue until May 10th.
The event is organized by the SAAED Society to Reduce Traffic Accidents in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior and in the framework of the strategic partnership with Al-Futtaim Motors. It aims to enhancing traffic awareness, providing a safe road environment, urging drivers to abide by the traffic law, and reducing all the dangerous causes of accidents and traffic violations.
Colonel Jamal Al Ameri, Executive Director of the Saeed Society to Reduce Traffic Accidents, said in his speech on this occasion that the Arab Traffic Week is one of the most important traffic awareness initiatives held annually in the Gulf and Arab countries. It is concerned with traffic safety and awareness issues through holding special safety campaigns to improve the behavior of road users of all age groups, and urge them to abide by the rules of traffic safety, in addition to organizing community awareness programs to trigger the role of the family about the risks resulting from non-compliance with the traffic law.
He stressed the keenness of the SAAED to develop creative energies and encourage new talents to find solutions to reduce traffic accidents, referring to the efforts of SAAED in organizing workshops and holding conferences and conferences in cooperation with relevant associations, in addition to addressing traffic problems facing the community and raising awareness of their catastrophic consequences. 
Al-Ameritackled the efforts exerted by SAAED in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior to spread the traffic culture, revealing that a total of 395 awareness-raising activities were held over the past six months, including lectures, exhibitions and traffic awareness points, benefiting large numbers of different society segments. 
Yousif Al Raisi, Director of Government Relations, Health, Safety and Environment at Al-Futtaim Motors, stressed theincreasing attention paid by Al-Futtaim Motors tosupport community responsibility by increasing traffic culture and enhancing public safety awareness, referring to the efforts of the Ministry of Interior to reduce traffic accidents. 
The celebration began with musical pieces presented by the Police Music Band, followed by a film about road safety awareness prepared by SAAED. Hamouda bin Ali School also presented a wonderful theater performance. The event also witnessed honoring of thepartners and sponsors who contributed to traffic awareness efforts. 
Brigadier Ghaith Hassan Al Zaabi, Director General of Traffic Coordination at the Ministry of Interior, said that the Arab Traffic Week is one of the important occasions for intensifying traffic awareness to comply with traffic laws and regulations in order to enhance traffic safety and reduce accidents.

He added that this year's slogan focuses on the roles of trafficmarshal who seeks to instilling traffic awareness among motorists and implementing traffic rules, spending long hours serving road users in a civilized manner while facing all challenges. 
Al-Zaabi called for the need to unite and cooperate towards achieving greater commitment to create a generation that is aware of traffic issues and capable of taking responsibility. He pointed out that the Arab World is striving to reduce accidents, achieve traffic safety and provide the necessary means to reduce them.
