MoI: The International Cyber Crimes Conference to Start March 16

The Ministry of Interior (MoI) will be discussing specialized work papers in the field of cyber security from within and outside the UAE in collaboration and coordination with the Ministry of Justice, the Institute of Training and Judicial Studies, the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) and the National Electronic Security Authority (NESA), during the International Cyber Crimes Conference. It is noteworthy that this conference will start on March 16 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) in conjunction with the International Exhibition for National Security and Resilience (ISNR Abu Dhabi 2016).


Members of judicial, police and security authorities, university professors, law and information technology students, legal consultants from public and private sectors, representatives of public and private technology institutions and social institutions will participate in the conference.


The conference aims to address legal, security and technical aspects of cyber crimes. It will also offer the opportunity to exchange scientific and technological expertise and knowledge related to information security, to raise cyber awareness, and to spread cyber security education in many fields, notably critical infrastructure and geographic information systems. The conference will allow representatives from public and private sectors to review the best experiences in combating cyber crimes.


The conference will feature two discussion panels on the National Agenda for Information Security in the UAE and Towards Online Safety for Children. It will also discuss a number of topics related to fighting cyber crimes through several work papers such as Security in the Age of the Internet of Things (IoT), Smart City Security, Privacy in the Age of Smart Transformation and Smart Cities, Smart Citizen Awareness, Culture, The Digital Divide – Challenges Opportunities, and Security of Online Financial Services, Necessity or Privilege?
