Ninth Sporting Events for MoI Staff Members Concluded

The Ninth Sporting Events for Ministry of Interior (MoI) staff members were recently concluded. The events were organized by the Police Sports Association in Abu Dhabi under the patronage of Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and with the participation of the six sectors namely: General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; Undersecretary Sector; Assistant Undersecretary for Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs Sector; Assistant Undersecretary for Resources and Support Services Sector; General Headquarter of the Civil Defense Sector; and Police College Sector.


The competitions were held at various locations including Zayed Sports City, the MoI Headquarters, the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, and the Police College.


In the seven-a-side Football tournament, the General Directorate of Civil Defense secured first place. The General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior’s sector and the Assistant Undersecretary for Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs’ sector ranked second and third respectively. In the five-a-side Football Championship for over-40 year old tournament, the Assistant Undersecretary for Resources and Support Services’ sector ranked first, followed by the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior’s sector and the Assistant Undersecretary for Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs’ sector in the second and third places respectively.


In the Beach Volleyball tournament, the General Directorate of Civil Defense secured first place. The Assistant Undersecretary for Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs’ sector and the Police College’s Sector ranked second and third respectively.


In the Tug of War competition, the Police College’s Sector ranked first, followed by the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior’s sector and the Civil Defense’s Sector in the second and third places, respectively. 


In the Pistol Shooting for Senior Officers tournament, the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior’s sector secured the first three places. Lieutenant Colonel Mohammed Khalifa Al Ghafali ranked first, followed by Lieutenant Colonel Ahmad Mohammed Al Marar and Colonel Nasser Abdulaziz in the second and third places respectively. 


In the Pistol Shooting for Officers tournament, Major Faisal Rashid Al Shamesi from the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior’s sector ranked first, followed by Major Khaled Rabie Al Hammoudi from the Police College came in second followed by Lieutenant Abdulaziz Abdullah from the Assistant Undersecretary for Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs’ sector in the third place. 


In the Pistol Shooting tournament for men, First Policeman Ahmed Salem Al Shamesi from the Civil Defense Sector secured the first place, followed by Corporal Ali Nasser Mohammed from the Police College and Sergeant Al Hassan Khalfan Al Badwaoui from the Police College in the second and third places, respectively.


In the Pistol Shooting tournament for women, Warrant Officer Moza Mohammed Al Zarouni from the Police College secured first place. Warrant Officer Badria Mohammed Al Zarouni from the Police College came in second place, followed by Lieutenant Lulua Hassan Al Hammadi from the Assistant Undersecretary for Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs’ sector in the third place.


In the women’s Race Walking competition, the Civil Defense sector won the first three positions. Civilian Staff Hanaa Ismail Al Nuaimi ranked first, while policewoman Khadija Ali Al Shehhi ranked second and Corporal Sheikha Rashid Al Hammadi third.
As for the women’s Running competition, the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior’s sector won the first three positions. Civilian Staff Ratya Dishad ranked first, while Policewoman Shitya Rado ranked second and Corporal Ramash Suri third.
In the Running competition for participants below 30 years, Civilian Staff Hamza Nawaf Shibi from the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior’s sector ranked first, while Corporal Ahmad Saeed Al Zouhouri from the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior ranked second and Soko Jandar from the Civil Defense third.
In the Running competition for participants above 30 years, Administrative Staff Reda Abdulhadi Mohammad from the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior’s sector ranked first, while Policeman Rasheed Bu Bakr from the Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs ranked second and Warrant Officer Hamadan Ibrahim Al Dhanhani from the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior ranked third.
In the Race Walking competition above 40 years, Civilian Staff Robert Fronchi from the Civil Defense ranked first, while Policeman Abdullah Mohamad Al Kendi from the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior came second and First Policeman Abdullah Mohamad Al Montasir from the Civil Defense came third.
In the Race Walking competition for employees, Ahmad Abdullah from the Civil Defense ranked first, while Abdulghafur Kornerfat from the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior came second and Abdulmajeed Al Wakal from the Civil Defense came third.
In the Snooker competition, Civilian Staff Moutamid Ghazi Hamadan from the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior ranked first, while Colonel Mohammed bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri from the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior ranked second and Corporal Muhi Ahmad Thiab from the Police College came third.
In the Table Tennis competition, Captain Ali Mohamad from the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior ranked first, while Civilian Staff Ayman Mohammad from the Police College came second and Journalist Maher Fawzi from the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior came third.
As for the Fitness and Challenges competition, Paco Jack from the Civil Defense came first, while Fahd Abdul Rahman and Ahmad Al Humaidi from the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior came second and third respectively.


In the Cultural Competitions for men, the Civil Defense General Directorate’s sector ranked first, while the Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Resources and Support Services’ sector came second and the Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs’ sector came third. As for the Cultural Competitions for women, the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior ranked first, while the Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs’ sector came second and the Police College sector third.


The closing event was attended by Colonel Adel Abdulrahman Al Hammadi, Head of the Financial Affairs Department; Colonel Ali Obeid Al Shamesi, Head of the Organizational Structure Department at the Ministry; Colonel Muhanna Mohammad Al Nuaimi, Head of the Training Department at the Police College; and Colonel Aref Ali Obaid Al Rayes, Acting Head of the Police Sports Association Department; along with a big number of officers from various sectors in the Ministry of Interior.
