A delegation from the United Arab Emirates, represented by the Ministry of Interior, participated in in a summit to tackle online child sexual abuse and exploitation , which was held under the title "We Protec" in Addis Ababa in the presence of Her Excellency Sahle-Work Zewde, President of the Democratic Federal Republic of Ethiopia.

The summit was attended by a number of ministers from Australia, Moldova, El Salvador, Cambodia, Brazil, Ukraine, Uganda, Norway, Sri Lanka and Malaysia, as well as representatives from 93 countries and a number of experts and specialists representing law enforcement forces, police authorities and technical companies concerned with child protection through Internet.

The summit discussed a number of topics related to the sexual exploitation of children via the Internet and current challenges, and the threats facing countries in this field, the safety of children in the digital world , and strengthening ways to protect and support victims of crimes via the Internet, where Major Dana Hamid Al Marzouki, Director General of the UAE MOI’s International Affairs in presented a paper in The closing session for the first day on the scale of the global problem and efforts to eliminate the crime of sexual exploitation.

Captain Hamad Youssef Khater, Director of the International Partnerships Department at the Ministry of Interior also presented a paper on national efforts and the Ministry of Interior to strengthen child protection measures through the digital world and initiatives in the field of addressing and eliminating the issue of sexual exploitation and the measures it undertakes to protect children from these crimes, and the most prominent achievements achieved in this field.
