The Ministry of Interior has recently participated in the International Scientific Conference on Digital security and the Modern Challenges, which was organized by the International Observatory for Criminal Research and Security Governance in Agadir, Morocco. 

In his paper titled "The Role of Social Media in Boosting Digital Security", Colonel Dr. Khalid Hamad Al Ameri, director of the Sharjah Police Research Center and representative of the ministry of interior in the conference has talked about the inevitability of digital security in the virtual world in light of the violations and the crimes threatening the users of websites and electronic software. 

He emphasized the need for combating these dangers by using various methods such as the social media which he believed could positively contribute to increasing awareness of the importance of the digital security since social media is the most current means of communication and publication for all communities.
