The Ministry of Interior won six awards and two medals as part of the fourth edition of the Mohammed bin Rashid Government Excellence Award at the ceremony held under the patronage and the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, at the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday.

The ceremony was organized by the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs. 

In the Leading Federal Entity category, the Ministry of Interior won in the Ministries with More Than 500 Employees sub-category. It also won the following five awards in the other categories and fields: the Best Entity in the Field of Enablers category, the Best Entity in the Field of innovation category, the Best Entity in service provision, the Best Achievement of National Agenda category and the Best Joint Service category.

Two staff members of the ministry of interior received two medals: Colonel Ahmed Al Hamoudi, head of the traffic and patrols service center, Fujairah police won the medal for Most Distinguished Service Center Director. Halima Al Matroushi, from Fujairah police, won the medal for Best Administrative Employee.

Police leading officials described the Award as one of the main triggers for consolidating the concepts of excellence in the institutional work at the government entities, stressing that excellence has become a strategic option for all the ministries and government institutions in the country considering the creative work environment provided by the visionary leadership. 

Undersecretary of the ministry of interior, Lt. General Saif Abdullah Al Sha'far stressed that the Award contributes to developing the government sector performance, as well as to disseminating the culture of creativity, loyalty and excellence among the employees. He further expressed thanks to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai for launching and supporting the Award. 

He said that this achievement is added to the ministry's unbeatable record in the path towards government excellence, stressing that the direct attention and support given by Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy prime minister and minister of interior to the work teams have been behind this success. 

He urged on intensifying efforts to maintain these gains and to move ahead on the path of progress in order to achieve the future vision of our leaders.

Lt General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Dubai Deputy Head of Police and Public Security stressed that the Award is a mark of pioneering and excellence, expressing his thanks to the patron and supporter of the Award His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

"It is my pleasure to extend my congratulations and regards to Lt General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, who is the real supporter of innovation and excellence", said Tamim. 

He further added that the ministry of interior has dedicated paramount attention to the transfer of knowledge and exchange of expertise. It created many electronic and smart systems geared towards customers' satisfaction. 

Major General Dr. Nasser Lakhrerbani Al Nuaimi, secretary general of the office of HH Deputy prime minister and minister of interior considered that this achievement was a result of the directives and visions of Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who leads excellence at the ministry. 

Having national awards such as the Mohammed bin Rashid Government Excellence Award encourages competition among the UAE institutions, which would reflect on the progress and of the overall performance, noted Major General Dr. Abdul Quddos Al Obaidly, Assistant Commander-in-chief of Dubai Police for Quality and Excellence. 

For his part, Colonel Nasser Kahdim Al Ka'bi, director of customers' happiness department, ministry of interior, affirmed keenness to reach the highest levels of excellence and pioneering through the implementation of the international standards which should corresponds with the ministry of interior's vision and mission. He extended congratulations to Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and thanked him for his unlimited support for the distinguished employees. 

"We will continue to excel, and the Award has motivated us to make extra efforts in order to deliver the best , stressed the two medal winners Colonel Ahmed Mohamed Al Hmoudi, head of Traffic and Licensing Services Center, Fujairah police and 1st warrant officer Halima Al Matroushi from Fujairah police GHQ.
