"Aqdar's" Adventures Camp to host 1000 students in Abu Dhabi
Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, the activities of the 4th Adventures Students Camp will kick off during 17-29 December, with the participation of 1000 students.
The camp held under the patronage of Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, is organized by Khalifa Student Empowerment Program, in collaboration with the National and Reserve Service Authority in the Armed Forces, Ministry of Education, Abu Dhabi Education Council, Knowledge, Human Development Authority in Dubai, and Abu Dhabi Education and Training Institute. It targets ninth and eleventh graders from across the country's schools.
"The fourth Adventures Students Camps is held in Abu Dhabi Vocational Education and Training Institute (ADVETI) in Al Shahama, to provide the students with the required knowledge to get prepared for the national service, and to instill values of belonging and loyalty to the UAE as well as deepening national feelings in their identity", General Coordinator of the Khalifa Student Empowerment Program Colonel Dr. Ibrahim Al Dabal, explained.
He added that participants will be awarded an international certificate from Aqdar and from the Institute of Leadership and Management, ILM, UK.
He also pointed out that the Camps are the result of the fruitful strategic cooperation and partnership between the Ministry of Education, Armed Forces, and Khalifa Student Empowerment Program (Aqdar). He explained that the first version of the Camp was held in December 2015 and attracted 970 students. It received a lot of praise from the students and their parents.
The Camp is a strategic initiative that links students with National Service by empowering students and providing them with capabilities needed for developing their national awareness and love to their homeland. Students undergo medical tests before beginning the sporting, cultural and national activities.
