Abu Dhabi will host Aqdar Global Summit, which will be held from 21-23 November 2017, under the patronage of Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, in partnership with the Khalifa Students Empowerment Program and INDEX Conferences and Exhibitions - member of INDEX Holding.
The details of the summit were announced at a press conference held today at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC), chaired by Major General Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Inspector-General of the Ministry of Interior and Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee.
Dr. Abdul Salam Al Madani, President of the "INDEX Holding" and CEO of the summit, and Colonel Dr. Ibrahim Al Dabal, general coordinator of Aqdar delivered words at the press conference in the presence of Brigadier Dr. Jassim Mansour Al Mansouri, Deputy Inspector-General of the Interior Ministry.
The Aqdar World Summit is the largest and most important international forum with a national dimension to empowering young people, preparing good citizenship and ambitious leadership through developing personal skills and spreading awareness messages, providing a healthy environment for community safety and crime prevention. The Summit isthe first of its kindin the region and the world, and will be organized annually in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
Speaking at the press conference,Major General Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al Raisistressed that the United Arab Emirates became one of the countries that have the lead in many areas locally, regionally and internationally, to achieve well-being for humans and communities, and to work on ensuring their stability and safety.
"In line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to launch" ethical education "as a central theme in the educational process in order to promote values of creativity, innovation, responsibility, tolerance and intercultural coexistence, we have made the main theme of this year's summit on "the role of moral education in educational institutions regionally and internationally to address global challenges, and intellectual and moral extremism " so as to address this issue from different angles in an effort towards creating an integrated vision seeking to create a moral and value-oriented foundation to face intellectual and moral extremism which turned to become two main problems in our communities. Accordingly, we felt the importance of this issue and thought of how we can build an ethical system across the educational institutions to confront all the motives and causes that provide fertile environment for the spread of these two negative phenomena".
Al-Raisi added that His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, launched theAqdar World Summit as a leading global platform aimed at discussing students' issues in their social, ethical, security and health dimensions to ensure a bright future for them.
"The Aqdar Summit seeks to achieve a number of strategic objectives such as building of preventive strategies and policies to raise awareness of the challenges and risks facing students, and young people so that a specific issue can be addressed each year. The Summit also seeks to benefit fromthe regional and international expertise, and promote them to serve the relevant institutions, through creating a platform for effective and productive dialogue between experts and professionals about the risks and challenges facing them and ways to confrontingthese challenges, with the aim of unifying the concepts in the field of education, awareness and student protection", he further said.
He added that the summit aims also to provide institutions and human resources working in the field of education, prevention and awareness with sustainable knowledge through the continuous learningprogram, and through providing a single site to display the various products and programs on educational and behavioral issues.
Colonel Dr. Al Dabal said that the summit features a number of events, namely,a conference to be held annually in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, in the presence of politicians, decision-makers, policy makers, experts, specialists, parents and students. Every year, the two-day conference addresses an issue that represents a main theme related to the Summit's objectives. The Summit will also include a Continuing Learning Program, a sustainableknowledge-based innovative educational model that provides necessary skills for all stakeholders in an easy and simple way. The program is regularly updated by experts and professionals. He added that the Summit will also comprise other events, including the future innovation pavilion, a creative platform for the display of future trends on education and prevention; workshops for professionals, and workshops for parents.
