Major General Ali Abdullah Bin Alwan Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of Ras Al Khaimah Police, inaugurated the Traffic Awareness and Safety Exhibition organized by the Ministry of Interior (MoI) represented by the Traffic Coordination Directorate General and traffic and patrols departments in the UAE. The exhibition will be held at the UAE level during 12-15 November 2019 in Al Manar Mall in Ras Al Khaimah. It will be attended by Brigadier Abdullah Khamis Al Hadidi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Ras Al Khaimah Police; a number of officer from RAK police and other police headquarters participating in the event; as well as the public audience of the mall visitors.
The exhibition included works carrying traffic awareness messages addressed to all members of the community, aimed at clarifying the dangers of traffic accidents, their causes and consequences, and some erroneous behaviors committed while driving in order to enhance traffic safety. In a speech on the sidelines of the exhibition, Major General Al Nuaimi, RAK Police Chief, said that the Ministry of Interior and Police Leaders are seeking to achieve the vision of the United Arab Emirates to be one of the best countries in the world in (security and safety), National indicator set to reduce mortality significantly. He added that the exhibition also aims to introduce visitors to the dangers of speed through what is displayed from the paintings, innovations and images of traffic accidents, showing some of the errors of drivers of vehicles that lead to the occurrence of traffic accidents and the resulting losses.
Colonel Saeed Obaid Bin Arran, Director of Traffic and Patrols Department, General Directorate of Umm Al Quwain Police, Head of Traffic Awareness and Information Team at the Ministry of Interior, said that the Ministry intends to hold such exhibitions throughout the year and in different parts of the country with the aim of introducing and disseminating traffic culture to generations of young people and different age groups. He pointed out that the exhibition comes within the campaigns organized by the Ministry of Interior, in implementation of the plan of the Department of Traffic Coordination at the Ministry of Interior, which seeks to create a generation of conscious and educated and aware of the importance of cooperation between various sectors to reach the integrated system towards a safe and stable society free of traffic accidents. Colonel Bin Arran stressed that awareness programs contribute to raising the level of traffic culture among different segments of society, within the methodology of community communication, and contribute to the promotion of traffic safety,
He pointed out that the exhibition included many guiding panels that carry several messages addressed to traffic accidents and their negative effects, including human, social and economic losses and others. He called on the public to visit the exhibition held at (Al Manar Mall) to see its contents, and identify the causes of traffic accidents and dangers, and the opening ceremony included a variety of paragraphs related to traffic safety presented by students of schools in Ras Al Khaimah Educational Zone, also presented a realistic story about the damage caused by traffic accidents, The Ras Al Khaimah Police Music Band played the music of the audience.
At the end of the ceremony, the RAK Police Chief honored the exemplary drivers and participating parties in holding the exhibition. It is noteworthy that the exhibition of awareness and traffic safety, which is held by the Ministry of Interior represented by the General Directorate of Traffic Coordination and the departments of traffic and patrols in the UAE, receives the public during the morning and evening throughout the duration of its stay.
