Inspector-General at the Ministry of Interior Major General Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, received at his office at the ministry a delegation from the ministry of defense chaired by the Brigadier Staff Hamdan Saeed Al Shamesi, Inspector General at the Ministry of Defense.
The delegation was briefed on the best practices implemented by the ministry of interior and on the work mechanism, jurisdictions, and follow-up operations at the Office of the Inspector-General.
A number of issues have been addressed at the meeting, including the ministry of interior's strategic objectives, the functions of the Office of the Inspector General, its organizational structure, and its jurisdictions which include carrying out inspection of all the central and regional units of the ministry to ensure their activities are in conformity with the laws and regulations and the cabinet's decrees, and to ensure these units are committed to the polices, laws and the procedures in force.
Colonel Abdullah Al Qadhi, and Colonel Jamal Al Obad, from the office of the inspector general, presented statistics on the inspection outcomes, and explained methods to monitor the remarks, the chances of improvement, mechanism of receiving complaints, and the annual plan for the Inspection Department and the Investigation and Follow up Department.
The visiting delegation was also briefed about the newly launched smart investigation service using visual communication.
Head of Internal Audit Office Major Mohammed Al Oryani informed the delegation of the office's tasks and functions, referring to governance's goals and to the office's role in identifying the governance-related challenges which might face the ministry of interior.
