Brigadier Mohammed Humaid bin Dalmouj Al Dhahiri, Acting Secretary General of the Office of HH the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior affirmed that the ministry is keen to strengthen its international relations and expand its partnerships in order to enhance the security process and develop police work according to the highest international standards.
He pointed out the team assigned with the follow-up of the directives issued by interior ministers of the Security Alliance to address the transnational and organized crime, has begun its works. The Alliance was announced in Abu Dhabi last February.
A coordination meeting held between the UAE, represented by the Ministry of the Interior and France, the two founding countries of the Security Alliance, has discussed ways to follow procedures regarding the setup of the operational model of the Alliance, the developments of the proposed projects, the organizational structure and the work mechanism of the sub teams as agreed upon.
During the meeting held recently in the French capital Paris, direct communication via videoconference was established with the other five Alliance member countries, namely Morocco, Bahrain, Italy, Spain and Senegal to discuss the steps to be taken in regards to the directives the Ministers of Interior have issued at their last meeting in Abu Dhabi.
The meeting was attended by Major Dana Al Marzouqui, Major Maktoum Al Matroushi, First Lieutenant Musabbah Al Saadi, Deputy Police Attach in the UAE Embassy in Paris, French Head of the International Cooperation Department Sophia Hat, Secretary of the Department of International Cooperation and a number of French officials.
Alliance is an international working group to address the transnational organized crime. It comprises Italy, Spain, Senegal, the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Kingdom of Morocco, as well as UAE and France, the founders of the alliance. Abu Dhabi will be the headquarters of the Alliance's general secretariat.
The Alliance encourages joint work to confront organized and transnational crime of different types, develop means of prevention, and ensure sustainability of security and stability for these countries in their endeavors to promoting security and growth to their people.
The agreement also increases opportunities of cooperation among these countries in police and security areas, while leveraging experience and information sharing to contribute to the international peace and security.
Unlike other international alliances, this Alliance acts as a forum for sharing expertise and for publishing the best practices and training principals on police and security issues.
