Fujairah Police GHQ organized a dialogue session for women to raise their awareness of the harmful effects of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances in cooperation with the National Drug Control Program (Siraj) as part of the activities of a campaign held for this purpose.
The session was held at the Fujairah Social and Cultural Society, and hosted Major Moza Masood Al Yaqoubi, of Abu Dhabi Police Investigation Department, First Lieutenant Sheikha Al Kaabi, of the Community Police Department of Fujairah Police and Ms. Nawal Rashid Al Ziyoudi, of the Family Rehabilitation and Guidance Unit at Fujairah Court.
The session addressed the causes of drug abuse and psychotropic substances and ways of prevention, so as to protect the society as a whole and reduce the spread of this scourge. The session also highlighted the efforts of the concerned anti-drug governmental bodies and institutions.
The session discussed some reasons for drug abuse such as bad company and absence of family supervision on children, and stressed the need for instilling Islamic values on children, which will protect them against such destructive practices.
Mr. Khalid Al-Dhanhani, Chairman of the Fujairah Social and Cultural Society, thanked the Fujairah Police GHQ for organizing this awareness session.
