Lt. General Sheikh HH Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, was briefed about the Interpol projects funded by the United Arab Emirates such as measures to deal with terrorism, cybercrime, stolen artworks, smuggling of migrants, human trafficking, online child exploitation, vehicle-related crimes, drug control, and illegal trade in goods.
During his tour of the exhibition, which was held today at the National Exhibition Centre in Abu Dhabi, he listened to an explanation by J rgen Stock, Interpol's Secretary-General, and Elias Michel Murr, Chairman of the Interpol Foundation on the seven projects, as well as the Interpol's plans to achieve these project goals that include supporting global peace and anti-crime efforts.
He also met with Lebanese Interior Minister Nihad al-Mashnouk, Ramel Usubov, Minister of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan, Biambatsjut Sanding, Minister of Justice and Home Affairs of Mongolia and Vadim Trupan, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, on the sidelines of the forum.
They exchanged views on a range of issues of mutual interest and ways to promote bilateral ties in the areas of security and policing. They also highlighted the importance of the "Unity for Security" forum and the support of international organizations in promoting anti-crime efforts.
The meeting was attended by Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan, Deputy Chairman of Police and Public Security in Dubai, Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs and Brigadier Hamad Ajlan Al Ameemi, Director-General of the Federal Criminal Police in the Ministry of Interior and several officers from the ministry.
