Saif bin Zayed attends honoring ceremony of Aqdar student awareness competition's winners

Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, witnessed on Wednesday a ceremony honoring the winners of the fourth Aqdar student awareness competition, "The Fourth Season", at the headquarters of the Teachers Training Institute in Ajman, in the presence of HE Hussein Al Hammadi, Minister of Education.
Sheikh Saif honored the team of the UAE National Charter for the Digital World in recognition of its efforts to prepare the Charter that focuses on the vision of the UAE 2020. He also honored the team of the World Safe Internet Day for its efforts in implementing various awareness activities, including training of school students, universities and parents on the safe use of the Internet. The team is currently implementing a set of new projects, including the launch of Aqdar audio library, which provides electronic audible awareness, the launch of e-education portal to raise awareness of the dangers of electronic crime and the positive use of social media, and the launch of the digitally safe school, which creates a certified assessment system for measuring the schools readiness to counter the electronic threats.
Sheikh Saif was also briefed on the publications of the Khalifa Student Empowerment Program, the most prominent of which are: "We are all police in the face of crime", "Safety of my environment", "First martyr of the UAE", "Aqdar's student adventures", "Captagon" "The dangers of smoking", "Happiness and prevention of drugs" and other titles. 
His Highness also toured the Teachers Training Institute, which targets the teachers of public and private schools implementing the curriculum of the Ministry of Education with a capacity of 810 trainees, in order to provide specialized training for teachers to achieve professional development and improve the quality of teaching. The Institute includes 11 training rooms with the latest training facilities, and 13 laboratories, and a multi-purpose hall meeting, in addition to service facilities, and other important facilities.
HE Hussain Al Hammadi, Minister of Education, praised the partnership with the Khalifa Program to carry out student awareness competitions. He pointed out that the objectives and activities of the program enhance the values, habits and behaviors instilled in the students and enhances their creativity. 
He pointed out that the Ministry of Education, based on its educational vision and mission, works in order to invest in human resources to build a knowledge society and deepen the positive citizenship and national identity through cooperation with the Khalifa Student Empowerment Program. 
The ceremony was attended by HE Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Director General of Abu Dhabi Education Council, Dr. Abdullah Mohammed Karam, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Director General of Knowledge and Human Development Authority Dubai, Major General Abdul Quddos Abdul Razzaq Al Obaidly, Assistant Commander in Chief of Quality and Excellence in Dubai Police, Sheikh Sultan bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of Ajman Police, Brig. Mohammed Humaid Bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Acting Secretary-General of the Office of HH the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and a number of senior ministry officers, specialists, experts and stakeholders from the Khalifa Student Empowerment Program.
The ceremony began with the national anthem which was followed by an introductory video about the awards and the winners. Students of the Sheikha bint Saeed Model School for Girls in Ajman chanted the national anthem and presented various shows expressing love for the nation. 
Colonel Dr. Ibrahim Al Dabal, General Coordinator of the Khalifa Student Empowerment Program, said that student awareness programs are one of the tools and channels of the program that build the abilities and skills of students to meet the challenges and risks surrounding them.
He added that the competitions have focused on the students' interaction and linking them to the national document for student awareness as a national reference in this field. This document was prepared in partnership and cooperation with more than 50 federal and local entities.
He pointed out that the focus was on introducing students to the national awareness themes, crime prevention, health and safety, and the development of personal skills so that they were aware of the dangers and challenges surrounding them were able to unleash their creative potential.
Al Dabal praised the cooperation and partnership with the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Abu Dhabi Education Council, the Knowledge and Human Development Authority, the Abu Dhabi Education and Training Center for Technical and Vocational Training, the Applied Technology Institutes, the technical schools for their efforts in raising the students awareness and improving their skills in various disciplines.
