The Ministry of Interior is organizing several sport activities and competitions in various emirates as part of the second edition of the National Sport Day under the slogan "Emirates brings us together."
The event is organized as per the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. It is held to mark the GCC countries' celebration with the Sport Day and as part of the unified week of the GCC National Sport Day.
Chairman of the Police Sport Federation Brigadier Mohammed Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, said the Federation has coordinated with all sport sections at the Police GHQs and General Directorates to organize sport activities during the National Sport Day. A work team was formed to follow on these activities which involve all the ministry's staff members who practice sports.
"The ministry is keen to take part in the day driven by its belief in the importance of police sports and in line with its strategy in this respect", he said.
"Dozens of sport activities will be organized tomorrow Thursday and will attract hundreds of the ministry's staff both males and females", he added, indicating that this national and GCC event has lofty goals and will serve the community.
"All police GHQs have shown overwhelming enthusiasm to participate in this sport day for which all capabilities have been made available to ensure its success", he further added.
