MoI Motives Employees to Register for Digital Identity Systems

Lt. General Saif Abdullah Al Sha’far, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Interior (MoI) launched the unified registration platform in support of the Digital Identity Systems initiative recently launched by the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, in the presence of Major General Salem Ali Mubarak Al Shamsi, Assistant Undersecretary for Resources and Support Services, and Brigadier Eng. Hussein Ahmed Al Harthy, Director General of eServices and Communications Departments and a number of officers at the Ministry of Interior.

Al Sha'far stressed that the unified registration platform within the UAE's Digital Identity Systems initiative is a key pillar of the UAE's digital transformation strategy and its paperless strategy. It also promotes joint government cooperation at the federal level to come up with an integrated government and private services system that is able to cope with the requirements of future communities and cities. He added that the launch of digital identity registration aims to motivate all employees in the ministry to register, which affects positively on the rates of use of smart services and be proactive in giving confidence and credibility to customers from the outside public to deal with smart government services in an easy and smooth way and improve the customer experience.

For his part, Brigadier Eng. Hussein Ahmed Al Harthy, Director General of eServices and Communications, said that the initiative "digital identity systems" is one of the most important government initiatives aimed at achieving integration in the provision of e / smart services in the country and one of the key elements in the digital transformation as a digital alternative to paper ID card To verify the personal data of the person (citizen / resident / visitor) in a secure electronic environment in addition to providing requirements for digital signature services.

He stressed that the Ministry of Interior seeks through the registration processes to support the use of "digital identity" to serve the goals of the UAE government to achieve digital transformation and get rid of digital transactions and achieve the leading position in the world in 2021.
