A delegation from the Office of the Inspector-General at the Ministry of Interior was briefed about the best practices followed in internal audit and its implementation at the Emirates Telecommunication Corporation "Etisalat". The visit aims at sharing expertise and know-how to develop performance in line with the finest international standards.
Major General Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Inspector-General at the ministry of interior stressed the importance of exchanging expertise with government bodies to get informed of the best practices.
Major Sa'ad Al Ma'mari, deputy director of internal audit at the office of the inspector general and Nadeem Asghar, Head of Internal Audit / Vice President ETISALAT, have discussed ways to develop the competencies of employees through holding specialized internal audit courses. They have also reviewed the organizational structure, the objectives of audit, risks management and methods of preparing annual plans.
Other issues have also been addressed including, defining of the auditable operations, the steps for the preparation of the final report, feedbacks and the procedures adopted to send reports to the departments as well as the performance indicators.
The Ministry's delegation praised Etisalat for its prestigious expertise in internal audit, its approach in following the best international standards, and for its cooperation with other entities.
