Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, viewed a roadmap for the development of the Police College in Abu Dhabi while opening the new study hall complex at the college.
He also reviewed a plan for the new innovation Centre at the college and toured the two-storey building which includes 24 smart study halls.
The multi-phase development plan of the Police College includes modernization of programs and introduction of new subjects that strike a balance between knowledge and skills.
The management of the college has visited police forces in Los Angles, Finland, Italy and Hungary to study their models and prepare a benchmark.
Sheikh Saif later attended a presentation on virtual training system, which uses simulation for police sciences and applications including crime scene investigation and traffic operations. He also learned about the resources canter and the digital library.
His Highness also met with 6 outstanding female students from Al Maktoum College of Higher Education. The students are expected to travel to Scotland on July 9 for a one-month summer program on multiculturalism in civilizations. They will study different cultures and acquire international skills so that they are able to deal with police related work. They will also share experiences with students of similar police colleges in Scotland.
Brigadier Mohammad Humaid Bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Acting Secretary-General of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Brigadier Waleed Al Shamesi, Director-General of the College, Dr. Tayeb Kamali, Director-General of Academic Development and Training at the ministry of interior, and a number of police officers were present on the occasion.
