The General Directorate of Traffic Coordination at the ministry of interior honored heads of the GCC delegations currently participating in the events of the GCC Traffic Week held under the slogan, "Your Life Is a Trust".
The honoring ceremony was held at the Police Officers Club, Abu Dhabi.
"We celebrate the traffic week in order to deliver an awareness message to the community members of the dangers of traffic accidents and to motivate the public and institutions to cooperate with traffic departments to curb accidents", stressed Ghaith Hassan Al Zaabi, Director General of Traffic Coordination.
He emphasized the importance of sharing expertise and transferring successful traffic practices across the GCC countries to enhance traffic safety. He wished them a good stay in their second home, the UAE.
He also appreciated the GCC interior ministries for encouraging the exchange of visits between the GCC traffic departments, emphasizing the need for enhancing public cooperation with the police agencies to curtail traffic accidents.
Heads of the participating delegations have expressed their thanks to the ministry of interior for the invitation to take part in the Week's activities. They were also thankful for the warm hospitality and reception they have received in the country.
The Honoring ceremony was attended by Brigadier Khalifa Mohammed Al Khaili, director of traffic and patrols in Abu Dhabi police and a number police officers.
