Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi today received Lt. HH General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, who heads the UAE delegation at the 34th meeting of Arab Interior Ministers Council.

Topics covered by the ministerial meeting, which Essebsi opened earlier in the day in the Tunisian capital, included security strategies, ways of bolstering co-operation in combating terrorism and bordersss security to curb cross-border arms smuggling and movement of terrorists.

Sheikh Saif was welcomed at the airport in Tunis by Mohamed Slim Azabi, director of the presidential office and the personal representative of the Tunisian president; Minister of Justice, Ghazi Jeribi, Minister of Interior Al Hadi Majdoub; Dr. Mohammed bin Ali Koman, Secretary General of the Arab Interior Ministers Council, UAE Ambassador to Tunisia Salim Eissa Al Zaabi, senior officials and others.

Other participants in the meeting included representatives of the Arab League, the Gulf Co-operation Council, the Arab Maghreb Union, the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol), the International Civil Defense Organization, the Arab Tourism Organization, Arab Civil Aviation Commission, the Naif Arab University for Security Sciences and the Arab Police Sports Union.

Sheikh Saif was accompanied by a delegation which included, Brigadier Mohammad Humaid Bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Acting Secretary-General of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Brigadier Dr. Rashid Sultan Al Khidr Vice President of the Legal Council of the ministry, and Brig.. Juma Hamel Al Qubaisi, Brigadier Dr. Salah Obaid Al Ghoul, Director of Law Respect Culture Bureau , Colonel Ahmed Mohammed Al Marar, Director of government Affairs at the Diwan of HH the deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister, Colonel Dr. Jamal Saif Faris, Director of the Department of legal Affairs at the Diwan of HH the deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and Colonel Ahmed Saeed Al Mazrouie, Director of International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Interior and a number of officers.

Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, today held a series of meetings with Arab counterparts on the sidelines of the 34th meeting of the Arab Interior Ministers Council, to exchange views about issues of common concern with a focus on police and security. 

He met with Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister, Interior Minister of Saudi Arabia, and the honorary chair of the Arab Interior Ministers Council.

He also met with Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Khaled Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah, and Mauritanian Minister of Interior and Decentralization Ahmedou Ould Abdallah.
