As part of its ongoing digital transformation programme, the UAE Ministry of Interior has become the first federal government entity to launch its popular MOI UAE mobile application on the Huawei AppGallery with full HMS integration. 

On the occasion of the MOI UAE app becoming the first UAE Federal Authority App with HMS, officials from the UAE Ministry of Interior received a certificate of merit from Huawei during a special ceremony marking the news. 

The MOI UAE App, which is rated as one of the top 100 apps in the UAE, is now listed in the Huawei AppGallery. The HMS upgrade app provides greater convenience for Huawei AppGallery users by allowing it to work seamlessly with HMS tools such as maps and locations on all Huawei mobile products, including highly acclaimed HUAWEI Mate 30 5G. 

The announcement is the latest step in the Ministry of Interior’s wider digital and artificial intelligence initiative which seeks to enhance the ministry’s leadership in this field. This is in line with the UAE Vision 2021 strategy to transition the country into a knowledge-based economy by promoting innovation and investing in research and development.

This transition is also driven by close collaboration with private sector. The Huawei AppGallery team is working closely with local and federal government entities to further develop its applications database and integrate HMS in essential public sector mobile applications in order to grants to Huawei AppGallery users with access to smooth in app functionality and experience.

We are delighted to announce that our MOI UAE App is available on the Huawei AppGallery with integrated Huawei Mobile Services and that we are the first UAE Federal Government entity to set this example. We worked closely with members of Huawei’s team to make this possible in a short time. This is part of a wider initiative within the ministry to make the services we provide better and more efficient for the end users, said Brigadier General Eng.Hussain Ahmed Al Harthy, Director-General of Electronic Services and Communications at MOI.

This project showcases how Huawei is working closely with the federal government of the UAE to integrate HMS into top rated essential apps. This integration not only brings a seamless experience to all users in the UAE but is in line with the government’s strategy to further digitize services.
