UAE participates in "Security Day" Forumin Dakar

Represented by a delegation from the Ministry of the Interior, the United Arab Emirates has recently participated in the "Security Day" Forum on "Information Security". The event was organized by Senegal and France in was held in Dakar. 
The Forum has also included a meeting that brought together experts, decision-makers and industry professionals to find the best proposals and solutions for issues related to internet security.

The delegation of the Ministry of Interior included Major Danah Hmaid Al Marzouqui, Director of the Project Management and Joint Services Office at the Ministry of Interior, Captain Mohammed Mohair Al Shamesi, Head of Projects Department at the Ministry and Lieutenant Musabbah Rashid Al Saadi, Assistant Police Attach in France.

On the sidelines of the event, a specialized security exhibition was organized in the framework of the International Security Alliance against Organized and Transnational Crime, which was recently launched in Abu Dhabi, in the presence of representatives of Cameroon, Burkina Faso, Benin, Liberia, Guinea, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Niger, Mauritania, Mali, Togo, Chad, South Africa, and representatives of the Alliance from France, Italy, Spain, Senegal and Morocco.

Al Saadi stressed the important role of the Alliance in encouraging joint work to confront organized and transnational crime of different types, develop means of prevention, and ensure sustainability of security and stability for these countries in their endeavors to promoting security and growth to their people.

Additionally, the Alliance increases opportunities of cooperation among these countries in police and security areas, while leveraging experience and information sharing to contribute to the international peace and security, Al Saadi further empathized. 

The workshop discussed the Alliance's projects and the operational model, its joining conditions, its organizational structure and the mechanism of work of the sub-work teams. During the workshop, the UAE was nominated to lead the work tasks.


The host country welcomed the participants from the countries of the International Alliance and praised the efforts of the United Arab Emirates in launching the Alliance in a speech delivered by Omar Mal, Director-General of the National Police and representative of the Senegalese Minister of Interior who stressed Senegal's keenness to participate actively in the Alliance.


"Addressing this threat requires deep reflection on the issues related to Internet security, as well as the exchange of information, experiences and good practices", he said. He thanked the UAE Ministry of Interior, the founding member of the Alliance, for its efforts, which are now bearing fruit.


The International Security Alliance is an international working group to combat transnational organized crime. It comprises Italy, Spain, Senegal, the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Kingdom of Morocco, as well as UAE and France, the founders of the Alliance. Abu Dhabi is the headquarters of the Alliance's general secretariat.


Unlike most other alliances, this international working group would serve as a forum for sharing knowledge and expertise and disseminating best practices and specialized training principles and methods in all areas related to policing and security. The legal nature of this alliance would provide it with the flexibility to respond to and confront the current challenges and issues that face law enforcement.
