Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior headed the UAE delegation to the 36th meeting of the Ministers of Interior of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) held today (Wednesday) in Muscat, the capital of the Sultanate of Oman.

In a speech at the meeting, HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan thanked the Sultanate of Oman, the leadership, the government and the people for their outstanding hospitality and hospitality.HH also congratulated the Kuwaiti people on the return of His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah the Emir of Kuwait .HH then called for the next meeting to be held in the UAE.

Their highnesses and Excellencies the GCC Ministers of Interior discussed a number of topics of mutual security interest between GCC ministries of interior, as well as means to promote cooperation and security action among them. The meeting adopted a number of decisions and recommendations that were on the meeting’s agenda.

On the sidelines of the meeting, the winners of the Prince Nayef bin Abdul Aziz Award for Security Research were handed over to the 2017 Award.The Board of Trustees were honored, including Emirati Brigadier General Ali Salem Al Tunaiji, former member of the Board of Trustees, and Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Omar Rashid Al Shehhi, the current member.

Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior arrived in Muscat today (Wednesday) and was received by Omani Interior Minister Of Interior Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi, and Dr. Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, and a number of officials.

The UAE delegation included, H.E Mohammed Sultan Al-Suwaidi, UAE Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman; Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaiaili, Head of the Institutional Development Council at the Ministry of Interior; Brigadier Mohammed Humaid bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Secretary General of the Office of His Highness the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; Brigadier Dr. Rashid Sultan Al Khodr, Director General of Legal Affairs at the Ministry of Interior; Brigadier Dr. Jamal Saif Fares from H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Diwan; and a number of officers from the Ministry of Interior accompanying HH the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.
