HH Lt. Gen. Sheikh Saif bin Zayed al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior, met on Sunday at his office in Dermot Shea, New York City Police Commissioner and the accompanying delegation.
The meeting touched on the excellent relations between the MoI and NYPD, means to enhance relations, foster all aspects of policing, as well as harness relations through an exchange of experiences, knowledge, best practices, systems, and policies implemented for the mutual benefit of both sides in order to developed police work.
The meeting was attended by Major General Khalifa Hareb al Khalil, MoI undersecretary, Major General Ahmed Nasser al Raisi, MoI inspector general, Lt. Col. Dana Al Marzooqi, Director General of the International Affairs Bureau and several officers. The American side was represented by Chief of Intelligence for the New York City Police as well as Captain Fahad Al Harthy MOI Liaison Officer to the NYPD and the Detective Andrew Kamarchevakul, NYPD Liaison Officer to the UAE Ministry of Interior.
It is to be noted that MoI has excellent relations with NYPD. Both sides have MoUs signed to fight trans-border crime, exchange visits, joint conferences and workshops to share best practices. Both sides are keen to enhance cooperation in policing and joint training, coordination, and implement innovative and developed working methods to ensure the best police services in all areas. The depth of relations between both countries is demonstrated by the officers seconded between them, working to enhance continuous coordination and facilitate mutual visits, experiences, and knowledge.
