The competencies development division at the Police science Academy in Sharjah, concluded on Thursday the digital competencies development program at the Fazaa pavilion in Expo 2020 in presence of Major General Saif al Zirri al Shamsi, commander in chief of the Sharjah police, deputy chairman of the Academy, HE Brigadier Dr. Mohammed Khamis al Othmani, Director General of the Academy, heads of divisions and several police officers from Sharjah police and the Academy as well as Haitian al Fiqi, Director General of Tandem, the company that delivered the program.

Major General Al Shamsi stressed, during his speech on the occasion of the program’s conclusion, that the digital development project for competencies, which was organized by the Academy in cooperation with the Human Resources Department of the Sharjah Police, and implemented by the specialized international company Tandem, and the Spanish company Gamelerian, comes in line with the direction of the United Arab Emirates, and the global leadership it has achieved in The field of digital transformation at the level of the region and the world, and the Arab and international indicators in which the UAE topped in several areas related to digital transformation, such as smart government, communications, health, education, security, digital solutions and others.

In turn, Brigadier Al Othmani, Director General of the Academy, said that the project came in line within the UAE digital government strategy 2025 and with the directions and support of the Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, as it included many programs based on hypothetical scenarios, motivating participants to develop their skills in an interactive manner. and entertaining, enabling them to apply the latest leadership models in a competitive environment.

He added that the Academy was keen to implement this modern strategy in training, through the axis of flexibility and adaptability, which urges the use of innovative technologies for capacity building, to be able to respond to expected disasters proactively and to overcome any digital gaps that may arise

He pointed out that the project included a number of distinguished training programs, namely: the Leadership League, which included 439 members, the psychometric (assessment) program, which included 690 members, the flexibility and adaptation program, which included 3,837 members, and the customer service program (seven stars), which included 100 members.
