Aqdar world summit pursues future aspirations and a positive perception of global citizenhood in a global event at Expo 2020 Dubai

Following the successful echoes of the first day of Aqdar World Summit in its fourth edition under the theme Positive Global Citizenship – Empowerment of Sustainable Investment Opportunities held at EXPO 2020 venue inside Dubai Exhibition Centre and Fazza Pavilion, the summit started the second day with various events and activities including inviting a group of Japanese Children who are residing in the UAE as part of Aqdar Roots program, which grants children the opportunity to express the global positive citizenship concept and ensures the co-existence of the future generations in an environment full of peace and harmony which copes with the UAE vision.

At Aqdar Roots session, a Japanese girl named Hana Youko Yama who lives with her family in the UAE, explained before the audience how she feels safe living at UAE and the equality and coexistence levels among all members of the society regardless of their origins.

Moreover, Aqdar Majlis has continued its events for the second day by hosting on its platform Mr. Patrick Van Der Loo, Regional President of Pfizer Africa and Middle East who spoke about Covid-19 challenges and the impact of Positive Global Citizenship concept on handling crises and disasters. The session concluded with an enriching Q A interactive session at which Patrick managed to answer all questions regarding children vaccination and the intervals between vaccine dosages.


Aqdar Majlis sessions were keen on presenting inspiring and successful figures as Chris Gardner, entrepreneur, CEO of HappYness and author of the bestseller book Pursuit of Happiness . Interviewed by Engineer Anas Al Madani, Deputy to Chairman and CEO of INDEX Holding, Gardner highlighted the prominent and effective role played by the concept of the positive global citizenship on achieving human happiness. He also revealed his strategy towards being a positive global citizen which involves doing an act of goodness towards somebody without getting any gains in return, in addition to enjoying the small victories in daily life.

Aqdar Art Panel in collaboration with EMMA for Peace, a non-profit foundation for the promotion of peace and cooperation for development through music and education, held a session that shed the light on culture and global citizenship. The held session was managed by Eng. Khaled Al Attar with participants from different nationalities expressing their points of view about the importance of culture reflection on citizenship concept around the world.

In line with the collaboration between Aqdar World Summit and EMMA for Peace representing Euro Mediterranean Music Academy, the second day of the summit witnessed the signing ceremony between Dr. Paolo Petrocelli, Founder and Chairman of EMMA for Peace, and Dr. Abdul Salam Al Madani, Chairman of INDEX Holding, as they entered into an agreement that ensures cooperation and participation for the aim of enhancing the objectives of the foundation within GCC countries. Moreover, the agreement paves the way towards facilitating and opening channels of communication which allow exchange of information and experiences. Besides, organizational collaboration towards supporting and promoting peace, harmony and cooperation.

Music had strong presence during the Summit, thanks to the participation of the promising singer Abdulla Al Shamsi who amazed the audience and added joy to the program of events. Nagham Band also performed on the second day and the event was concluded by the participation of European Union Youth Orchestra.


 
 
The Aqdar World Summit continues with its third day at Fazza Pavillin with excellent events, program of activities, panel discussions and constructive dialogue at the DEC and the Fazaa Pavilion in Expo 2020.
 
The Aqdar round table, on how to enhance the role of vital sectors in empowering societies, tackled the role of aerospace in fostering a positive global citizenship. It was held in cooperation with the Federal Youth Authority, especially that aerospace is an effective strategic sector that enhances national competences, and contributes in building and developing global scientific and technical capabilities. 
 
The cultural cooperation seminars, centered around a program of interactive cultural and scientific events, discussed virtual reality and its role in law enforcement empowerment . Speakers addressed the possibilities afforded by modern technology in devising laws and enforcing legislations virtually.
 
The Emirati Credibility platform underlined the positive role of UAE nationals in spreading a message of tolerance and peace, since the UAE is considered a unique meeting point for all civilizations and people of the world. This in turn enhances a culture of openness and co-existence with others, in line with the approach of the founding father, late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan al Nahyan, and as a means to harness the vision of the leadership in preserving the humanity and noble values that are deep-rooted in every national and expatriate living in the UAE.
 
The third session, Emirati and I Can hosted UAE star athlete Abudullah Omar Al Ali, to talk about his personal experience in sports, and his achievements made possible thanks to the leadership vision, belief and trust in the capabilities and competencies of Emirati youth.   
 
The Aqdar discussion panel addressed the role of positive citizenship in humanitarian action. Speakers included HE Rashed al Mansouri, the Adviser to the Emirates Red Crescent Secretariat, Mr. Marc Sinclair, Little Wings founder, and Mrs. Miley Loom, researcher in Doctors Without Borders. The session was moderated by Dr. Najwa al Hosani, from the UAE university. 
 
In conclusion of day three of the Popular legacy and positive global citizenship event, co-organized with the Hamdan bin Mohammed Heritage Center and several pavilions from Expo 2020, speakers presented the common popular legacy between the UAE and New Zealand, where livestock is considered an important historical and cultural symbol for both countries.
