A delegation from MoI took stock of the best international in managing disasters and crises at penitentiary and correctional institutions in the Unites States. This comes as part of a plan to conduct external benchmarking by the MoI in cooperation with competent authorities and institutions to share experiences in various areas. This in turn will ensure global competitiveness for a sustainable future, to enhance readiness and preparedness.

The virtual visit to the Virginia Department of Corrections, U.S. was organized by the research and development center at the MoI.

The visit also discussed security operational plans, the extent of high efficiency in achieving rapid response to ensure the health and safety of workers, and enhancing security and safety for inmates in a way that ensures sustainable response and business continuity in penal and correctional institutions.
