Civil Defense ready for Ramadan

The General Directorate of Civil Defense at the Ministry of Interior announced that its teams across all emirates in the UAE are well prepared to face emergencies around the clock during the holy month of Ramadan. The announcement comes as part of its annual plan based on the Ministry of Interior's strategy to enhance security, safety and civil protection, aiming to implement best practices in firefighting, prevention and rescue, facing crises and disasters, protecting lives and property, and preserving national gains.

Maj. Gen. Dr. Jassim Mohamed Al Marzooqi, Commander-in-Chief of the Civil Defense, confirmed that the civil defense sector adopted a suite of preventive measures to ensure the highest levels of safety and protection from fire risks, and raise teams' readiness to deal with any emergency based on a unified work program. The sector is planning surprise inspection visits during the holy month of Ramadan to the regional departments of civil defense and a number of its centers to ensure they are well prepared and to measure the speed of response in emergency situations so that everybody remains safe. He stressed that civil defense teams are ready for fire incident reporting around the clock and will respond to calls on the emergency numbers 999 or 997 to ensure that community members are all protected and safe.
