The UAE Ministry of Interior and the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs organized the Security Cooperation Week, where several meetings were held between officials of the police services in the two friendly nations. The week aims to step up joint cooperation and exchange of experiences and information in security and police matters.
In the outset, Lt. Colonel Abdularahman Al Tamimi, director of the MoI Center for Child Protection gave a detailed presentation about the center’s roles and responsibilities in protecting children, as well as measures put in place to ensure child safety in the UAE community.
The Georgian delegation also received a presentation from Lt. Colonel Jamal Al Hosani, director of Air Support at the General Directorate of Security Support, about the Directorate’s role in regulating the use of drones, and in raising awareness about the latest rules and regulations to operate drones. The presentation also touched on the experiments the Directorate conducted on the ground to pinpoint and counter any misuse of these drones by the public. It also included the main participations, visits and workshops conducted by the Directorate.
A brief presentation was given about the MoI Traffic division strategic plan, best practices implemented in the UAE, to ensure it is the safest and most secure in the world. Also were presented the most important traffic initiatives and projects in the UAE, as well as measures taken by Traffic divisions and patrols to reduce the number of traffic accidents deaths.
The Georgian delegation, for its part, gave a similar presentation about the efforts of their Ministry of Interior in child protection, reducing traffic accidents and operating drones.
