Bahamas delegation visits MOI to review best practices 

Headed by Honourable Philip Davis, the Prime Minister, a delegation from the Bahamas was briefed during a visit to the Ministry of Interior on the best practices applied in the ministry to enhance the security and safety system. The delegation also discussed ways to step up security cooperation between the Commonwealth of the Bahamasand the UAE.

The delegation first met with Maj. Ge. Salem Ali Mubarak Al Shamsi, Assistant Undersecretary for Resources and Support Services at the Ministry of Interior. During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to step upcooperation between the UAE Ministry of Interior and its counterpart in the Bahamas in exchanging expertise, knowledge, practices and successful experiences in the two nations.

Accompanied by Maj. Gen. Al Shamsi, the visiting delegation visited the Security Support Operations Room atthe Ministry and was briefed on the smart devices offered by the room, as well as the equipment and systems that form a complete network that contributes to providing data to the Ministry’s sectors. The room is a continuation of the Ministry’s approach to adopting modern and smart systems and new technologies in order to ensure preparedness and speedy response through the use of innovative methods that contribute to promoting leadership, excellence and policing. 

The delegation also visited the Control Room of the smart services system, which monitors the progress of work across the service centers. It is a smart platform for dealing with the services rendered, providing performance reportsand achieving targets.

The guest delegation wrapped up the visit to the Ministry of Interior by reviewing the best practices in leadership and excellence by calling in the Excellence Hall of the General Directorate of Strategy and Performance Development. They listened to a brief explanation of the best practices applied in order to achieve the vision and strategic goals and ways to enhance institutional work in a manner based on creativity, innovation and the adoption of the best technologies and sciences based on future foresight.

The visiting delegation included HE Tony Judy, the non-resident ambassador of the Bahamas to the UAE, HE Paul Rowley, Commissioner-General of Police, and HE Zahra Gabriel from the Secretariat of the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
