"You are Responsible" campaign expands awareness of use of drones

The audience interacted with the Ministry of the Interior's campaign "you are the responsible" which aims to raise awareness about the use of drones. The audience benefited from the messages published through the ministry's accounts on social networking sites "Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google Plus, YouTube and hashtag "# you _are_responsible" on Instagram as well as and the website of the General Civil Aviation Authority www.gcaa.gov.ae
The Ministry launched the campaign which is being organized by the Air Support Department at the General Directorate for Security Support in cooperation with the General Civil Aviation Authority, to introduce drones users and enthusiasts to the conditions and laws governing their use, and to urge them to practice this sport in safe ways to ensure the safety of all.
Citizens, residents and those interested in benefiting from the awareness of the campaign said that they were able to learn about the conditions and instructions regulating their use, such registration of their drones at the General Civil Aviation Authority, and awareness of the legal and security regulations they should follow while practicing this sport, to ensure their safety and that of others. 
Khalid Abdullah Al Naqbi, a citizen, said that he benefited from the awareness messages that regulate the use of drones, pointing out that the drone that he owns is registered with the General Civil Aviation Authority. He stressed the importance of adhering to theses awareness messages to learn more about drones' laws.
Ibrahim Salem, a citizen, stressed the importance of safe use of drones to ensure the safety of all. He said that children are not allowed to practice this light sport on their own; they should be accompanied by their parents. 
"Users must keep the drone within their sight at all times, and they should fly their drones during the day", he added, pointing out that he learned about the campaign from the social media, and was keen on following it to comply with drones' laws and regulations, 
Mohammed Zayed Al Hosani believed that the campaign was just on time given the increasing number of drone users who are not fully aware of their responsibilities regarding this matter. 
"This campaign will increase their awareness and understanding of how to use drones properly and will familiarize them with the rules and regulations, to avoid any legal actions against them", Al Hosani said.
Mohammed Shawqi, a resident, said he uses a drone for aerial photography, but he has a limited knowledge of the laws governing their use. "The campaign helped me greatly to learn more about these regulations which aim to ensure the safety of users and public and private property", he added.
Ahmed Ghaleb Al-Issa, "a resident ", expressed his desire to buy a drone, but before that he preferred to learn more about the regulations pertaining to drones through the Ministry of Interior's the social networking sites and through the website of the General Civil Aviation Authority. By so doing, he would adhere to these regulations and avoid violations. 
Rashed Ali said he was a fan of drones and used it without being aware of the laws, which made him vulnerable to violations. He added: I read about the launch of the campaign on the newspapers. I was excited and decided follow the campaign on the social media. I registered my drone and uploaded "uae drone fly zone" application on my smart phone to know about the areas where flying drones is allowed. 
Ali Saeed Al-Saadi stressed the importance of the campaign in promoting awareness among the light sports enthusiasts, saying that the social networking sites being used to inform about the campaign has significantly contributed to its spread among a wide segment of the community members.
