Major-General Engineer Mohamed Saif Al Zaffin, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Operations at Dubai Police and Chairman of the Federal Traffic Council at the Ministry of Interior, stated that school students of all ages and educational stages should be protected as an important asset in the UAE’s human development efforts. Despite the precautionary measures put in place to protect them against all dangers, more guidance is needed for parents and those concerned with students’ safety to ensure they are well protected from traffic accidents and road risks.

The statement came on the occasion of rolling out the 4th unified traffic awareness campaign by the Ministry of Interior, represented by the Federal Traffic Council, under the slogan Traffic Safety for School Students. The campaign coincides with the beginning of the new school year and is scheduled to run for three months both online and on social media as part of the Traffic Sector’s initiatives to improve road safety across the UAE.

Al Zaffin said that this campaign comes within the initiatives of the traffic sector, based on the directives of the police leadership to reach the highest levels of traffic safety for all in general and school students from different school levels, especially children, to make them aware of the dangers of traffic accidents and the importance of adhering to traffic and traffic rules in order to preserve their safety, pointing out that it comes Within the strategic plan for the traffic sector at the Ministry of Interior to control road safety, to enhance traffic safety and to reduce traffic accidents and trampling cases.
