The civil defense discusses the UAE firefighting centers development plan

The MoI Civil Defense General Command held the MoI firefighting centers regular regions meeting in Umm al Quiwan to discuss the centers development plan, adopt digitalization approaches, and the use of data in the centers field operations. 

The meeting was presided by Major General Dr. Jassem Mohammed al Marzouqi, commander of the civil defense. During the meeting, the centers virtual inspection and assessment was launched and adopted, which will support remote work methodologies. The meeting also touched on the community centers concept, and support to specialized work provided by the centers such as ad hoc inspections and field surveys using IT systems. 

The meeting tackled the paperless centers project. It underlined the importance of IT systems for readiness, preparedness, and for the ultimate benefit. It also stressed future trends in firefighting centers to adopt global practices that support the sectors strategic indicators. 

Marzouqi emphasized the need to elevate services provided by the civil defense by staying up to date best international practices and standards in civil defense, in line with the UAE government to become among the world’s safest and most secure country. 

The meeting was attended by Brigadier Mohammad Abdulla al Muaimi, DG for firefighting and protection, Colonel Dr. Salem Hamad bin Hamda, Umm al Quiwan Civil Defense Director, Brigadier Salem Alai al Naqbi, DG for ressources and support services, as well and center directors. The meeting was virtually attended by heads of divisions and centers officers from all Emirates.
